In the second half of January lowered Apple launched a photo contest as part of the Shot on iPhone campaign, in which every ordinary iPhone owner could participate. It was possible to compete specifically from January 22 to February 7. The announcement was made yesterday via a press release, and in addition to the honor, the winner will also receive a financial reward.

To participate in the competition, all you have to do is share a photo with the hashtag #ShotOniPhone on Facebook, Twitter or Weibo, or send a full-resolution image to the appropriate email address. The winners were then determined directly by Apple employees led by Marketing Director Phil Schiller, who were also assisted by several professional photographers such as Pete Souza, Austin Mann, Annet de Graaf, Luísa Dörr, Chen Man, Kaiann Drance, Brooks Kraft, Sebastien Marineau-Mes, Jon McCormack and Arem Duplessis.

There are a total of 10 winning images, the authors of which are mainly from the United States (6), followed by one each from Germany, Belarus, Israel and Singapore. The most common model from which the winning photo came was the latest iPhone XS Max. But there were also pictures taken with iPhone X, iPhone 8 Plus and even iPhone 7. It is not a rule that you need the latest phone to take an interesting photo.

The honor awaits the winner in the form that Apple will use the images on its billboards in selected cities around the world, display them in Apple Stores and highlight them on its official website and social networks. Finally, in response to the initial criticism, the company rewards authors also in financial form. Apple did not specify the exact amount, but it could reach up to 10 thousand dollars (approximately 227 crowns).
