In early December, Apple regularly releases the best apps available in the App Store that have helped users tap into their personal passions, discover creative possibilities, connect with new people and experiences, and simply have fun. This year's winners include developers from around the world whose apps and games have been selected by the global App Store editors for exceptional quality, innovative technology, creative design and positive cultural impact. But do they have a chance in the future?

2021

"The developers who won the 2021 App Store Awards used their own drive and vision to create the best apps and games of the year — fueling the creativity and passion of millions of users around the world," said Tim Cook, Apple's CEO. Well, no doubt about it. However, what is the lifespan of such applications?

Press Release Apple says: This year's best apps and games offered extraordinary experiences on all Apple devices. Ten years after its debut in the App Store, it is improving Toca Life World children's self-expression. The developers behind the app DAZN then they channeled sports culture into the spotlight for everyone to enjoy while the app Carrot Weather has brought its best weather forecast to users' wrists. LumaFusion made video editing faster, shorter and more convenient for creators of all levels and Craft enabled efficiency and artistic creation in a creative way.

Of the games, Apple praised the titles for their graphics and story: League of Legends: Wild Rift, Fantasian, MARVEL Future Revolution, Myst and Space Marshals 3. But only time will tell the success of apps and games, which after all determines the success of everything.

2020

And what were the titles last year? Wakeout! brought exercise to home offices and classrooms with easy exercises designed for everyone. Vast fantasy worlds in games like Genshin Impact, Legends of Runeterra, Dico Elysium, Dandara Trials of Fear and Sneaky Sasquatch of Apple Arcade provided a great escape from the covid world, while Disney + offered a sense of limitless possibilities (in supported markets). Apple also appreciated the possibility of distance learning through Zoom, creating daily routines with Fantastical or relaxation application Endel.

So, last year was relatively alibi, because the award-winning applications may not have been the most popular, but simply because of compulsion, they were the most used - at least with regard to Zoom, or Endel. But it is clear that these applications and Disney+ in particular will still have a bright future. Since then Apple only selected AAA mobile games, they have a certain popularity even now.

2019

Specter Camera with artificial intelligence, uses a dizzying array of technologies to enable anyone to take stunning long exposure photos. But since you can make a long exposure with Live photos, it somehow lacks meaning. The developers themselves kind of just let it pass over time and don't update it too much. For example, she keeps missing the grid. Compared to that Flow by Moleskine, i.e. a personal sketchbook, is quite popular all the time, and is also regularly included in various editor's picks. But it's hard to say if it's not more because of the popular name of the developer.

2018

Procreate Pocket a Donut County were the apps and game of 2018 for iPhone. The first allows artists of all levels to paint, draw and sketch without compromise, wherever they are, the second title then came with unusual subject matter and controls, as well as principles. And it hasn't been long since it was on sale too. Although the first mentioned title is very narrowly focused, the second is popular even today.

2017

Calm a Splitter Critters dominated 2017. The first is a relaxing app that is constantly being mentioned across the entire App Store. On the other hand, a logic game with cartoon graphics and original "cutting" of scenes has not been heard of for a long time.
