The new iOS 13 hasn't even been released to regular users yet, and it's supposed to be in the testing phase until at least mid-September, but today Apple unexpectedly released the first beta of the upcoming iOS 13.1.

This is a somewhat surprising move, as Apple has never used a similar strategy in its past - always letting the primary system be properly tested and releasing the first beta of the upcoming secondary update only after the release of its sharp version. Given these circumstances, it is therefore likely that Apple simply made a mistake and inadvertently labeled iOS beta 13 9 like iOS 13.1. After all, this is evidenced both by the size of the update (only 440 MB) and the description of the update, where the company only mentions iOS 13 in the notes.

Either way, the new beta version is available to download for all developers in Settings -> System Update on iPhone and iPod touch, which must have the relevant profile installed. The new version can also be downloaded from developer.apple.com.

Apple has released a total of eight iOS 13 betas so far, with the last one available on August 21. It is expected that more betas will follow, at least it is a tradition that the company releases a so-called Golden Master (GM) version before the release of the final version, which should already be basically error-free and should include all the new features. Last year's GM versions were released on September 12. iOS 13 (and other systems) for regular users should be made available in the second half of September - the exact date will be revealed by Apple representatives at the conference.

13.1 iOS beta

Together with iOS 13.1 beta 1, Apple today also released the eighth beta version of tvOS 13 and the ninth beta of watchOS 6. These are also only available to developers, which are found in Settings on Apple TV or in the Watch application on iPhone.
