Following the release of iOS 13.2 yesterday, Apple also released the new watchOS 6.1 today. The update generally only brings improvements and bug fixes. But the most important thing is that even owners of older Apple Watch Series 1 and Series 2 can install it.

The original watchOS 6, which was released more than a month ago, was only available for the Apple Watch Series 3 and later. Owners of older but compatible models were forced to stay on the original watchOS 5. Moreover, Apple did not specify when exactly it plans to release a new version of watchOS for Series 1 and Series 2. It finally did so only now together with watchOS 6.1.

The update is recommended for all users and in addition to bug fixes and several other improvements, it also brings support for the new AirPods Pro. You download the update in the Watch application on the iPhone, specifically in My watch, where you go to In general -> Software update. The installation package is approximately 340 MB in size (varies by watch model).
