Along with the long-awaited iOS 7.1 update, Apple also released a new version 6.1 of the modified operating system for Apple TV. The list of new products is not nearly as striking as in the case of iPhones and iPads, but it is worth noting. It allows you to hide unused channels from the menu. Until now, users could use the parental settings trick where they disabled channels so they wouldn't appear on the main screen, now they can do it directly from the main screen.

Already in an earlier update, Apple TV gained the ability to rearrange channels on the main screen by holding the SELECT button on the Apple Remote and then pressing the direction buttons. On Apple TV 6.1, pressing the PLAY button in scroll mode (when the icons shake like on iOS) brings up a menu with additional options from which to hide the channel. By the way, the new iTunes Festival channel was also added last week. You can update directly from Apple TV v Settings.

In addition to the TV accessories, Apple also updated the Remote application, which serves as an alternative way to control the Apple TV through an iOS device. The app can now browse purchased movies and play them on Apple TV and control iTunes Radio. There are also unspecified bug fixes and stability improvements. You can find the application in the App Store free.
