Less than two weeks after debut fourth beta versions today Apple releases the fifth developer betas of its new systems iOS 12, watchOS 5, tvOS 12 and macOS Mojave. All four new beta versions are intended primarily for registered developers who can test the systems on their devices. Versions for public testers should be released today or tomorrow.

Developers can download new firmwares directly from Apple Developer Center. But if they already have the necessary profiles on their devices, then the fifth betas will be found classically in Settings, for watchOS in the Watch application on the iPhone, in macOS then in System Preferences. iOS 12 Developer beta 5 is 507MB for iPhone X.

The fifth beta versions of the systems should again bring several minor novelties, with iOS 12 likely to see most of them. However, due to the fact that the testing of new systems is already about halfway through, there will be fewer novelties than in the case of previous versions. According to the update notes, iOS 12 beta 5 also brings a few new bugs, which we've listed below.

Bugs in iOS 12 fifth beta:

  • After restarting the device, the connected Bluetooth accessory may not work correctly - the address of the device may be displayed instead of the name.
  • An error may occur when using Apple Pay Cash through Siri.
  • When using CarPlay, Siri will not be able to open apps by name. Shortcuts for opening apps won't work either.
  • Some Shortcuts requirements may not work.
  • If multiple bike-sharing apps are installed on the device, Siri may open the app instead when asked to provide the location.
  • The customized UI may not display correctly to users when Siri suggestions appear.
