Until now, Apple has released beta versions of both iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite on the same day, but this time, the new version of the upcoming Mac operating system is coming alone. OS X Yosemite is supposed to be released later than iOS 8, specifically in mid-October, but the mobile operating system must already be ready for the iPhone 6, which will be released in early September.

As in previous beta versions, the sixth developer preview also brings bug fixes and minor improvements under the hood. However, there are also some significant changes, mainly of a graphical nature. It should also be mentioned that this version is not intended for the public, or rather it is not intended for the public beta version that Apple opened for the first million interested parties. What's new in OS X Yosemite Developer Preview 6 is as follows:

  • Application FontBook a Script Editor they have new icons. The first application also received a minor redesign.
  • The battery icon in the top bar while charging has changed.
  • Do Not Disturb has returned to the Notification Center.

Xcode 6 beta 6 was also released along with the new OS X beta version, but Apple pulled it not long after and only the current beta 5 is available.
