Together with iOS 6 Apple has also released updates for its computers - OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2 is available for download, which includes several new features.
The most significant change and novelty is the implementation of Facebook. The latter is now integrated into the system just like Twitter, so interacting with the most popular social network is easier. You can share links and photos or have notifications sent to the Notification Center. Facebook is also integrated into Game Center in OS X 10.8.2.
The update will please owners of late 2010 MacBook Airs, which now support the Power Nap feature. iMessage has been improved, messages sent to a phone number will now also be displayed on a Mac, and FaceTime behaves similarly. The 10.8.2 update also includes general operating system fixes to improve the stability, compatibility, and security level of your Mac. According to developers who have been testing 10.8.2 for several weeks, the update should also bring better battery life for MacBooks.
OS X 10.8.2 is available for download in the Mac App Store and brings the following news:
I don't understand why Apple didn't implement facebook chat support in Messages.
After all, Facebook chat can be used in imessage for a long time.
Add a New Account and choose “Account Type” as Jabber. Add Account Name as “username@chat.facebook.com” (replace 'username' with your username). Enter your Password. Click on the “Server Options”, Server: chat.facebook.comUncheck 'Use SSL'Port: 5222
I also use it like this, but it's a tractor-linux-windows method.
That's how I feel too.. they could also include sending sms to numbers when the iPhone is connected to USB :)
I don't have facebook integrated in the notification center
You have You just have to turn it on in System Preferences, Mail, Calendar, Contacts...
I have it there. But what is it for? Apart from writing statuses directly from the notification center, is there nothing else? I was waiting for a notification, for example, when I receive a message or when a new comment is added. Can't put anything like that in notifications??
and the bugs that some users complained about fixed?
Well, I don't have Twitter or Facebook in the notification center - weird, and it doesn't even offer to turn it off in the system preferences... What kind of audacity is that... ???
So I really don't want Facebook on my Mac!
I want to ask when the problem with the battery will finally be solved or where should I go or what should I do so that the battery works for me for 6-7 hours and not for me it takes 3 hours on the new macook pro
I have the same problem, a new MacBook pro mid 2012 and on lions it's perfectly fine for 6 hours and after switching to mountain lion 4,5 hours and I'm glad... I updated to 10.8.2 yesterday but I'm afraid it won't solve anything
well, it took me 4 hours max on the Lion.. so I don't know why it is because apple guarantees 6-7 hours of battery life in advertisements on its website, so I would really like to know what can be done with it..
if it's been doing this since the very beginning, I'd take it to the dealer, or have them look at it or send it to the service center for diagnostics, maybe the battery is faulty...
after switching to 10.8.2 my battery went back to normal a bit. 6 hours :)
