Apple released the first update for the new iOS 11 operating system that is available this evening week. The update is labeled iOS 11.0.1 and should fix the most serious bugs and flaws that appeared during the first week of live operation. The update should be available for all compatible iOS devices.

If the settings do not yet offer you an update through the notification, you can request it yourself in the usual way, i.e. via Settings - General - Software Update. Apple has not attached any specific changelog to this update, so we will have to wait a while for the list of changes. The update should be roughly 280MB in size and include "bug fixes and general improvements for your iPhone and iPad." Hopefully this update will improve things like battery life. For many users, since the release of iOS 11, it is significantly worse than it was with previous versions.
