Apple has released the first update to its iOS 8 mobile operating system after launching the music streaming service Apple Music in June as part of iOS 8.4. The latest iOS 8.4.1 focuses on Apple Music and brings several fixes.
In particular, Apple fixed a bug where it was not possible to turn on the music library in iCloud or when the added music was hidden because it was set to show only offline music.
Furthermore, iOS 8.4.1 brings a fix to the display of incorrect graphics for different albums on some devices, and it now allows you to add songs to a new playlist if there are no existing songs to choose from.
Finally, the latest update should fix a few issues with artists posting on Connect, as well as issues with the unexpected Like button functionality on Beats 1 radio.
The update is available for all iPhones, iPads and iPods running iOS 8 and is traditionally recommended for everyone. Especially for those who use Apple Music, iOS 8.4.1 should be a boon. You can download either over-the-air directly on the device or via iTunes.
After this update, the battery life of my phone (iPhone 6) seems noticeably lower.
Does anyone have a similar experience?
Same experience. It drains out of nowhere, maybe in two hours, and it gets horribly hot. It's either searching for a signal, having trouble with network services, or
the Music and iBooks apps drive me nuts. In addition, applications cannot be installed (just a moment after the restart), the system settings menus are cut, switched switches (e.g. Apple Music, iCloud Library) return to their original positions, etc.
I've been using iOS since the first version (iPod touch 1st gen) and the current build 8.4.1 is the worst I've ever seen. My iPhone 6 has become practically unusable. A nightmare, nothing else.
