Apple released new versions of its operating systems this evening. Specifically, we are talking about iOS 17.1, iPadOS 17.1, watchOS 10.1, tvOS 17.1 and macOS 14.1. So if you own a compatible device, you should already see the updates in your device's Settings.

AirDrop

• When you move out of AirDrop range, content can continue to stream over the Internet if you enable it in your settings.

• Favorites expanded to include songs, albums and playlists, with a filter to view favorites in your library

watchOS 10.1 news, fixes and improvements

watchOS 10.1 includes new features, improvements, and bug fixes, including:

• The double-tap gesture can be used to perform the primary action in notifications and most apps, so you can answer a call, play and pause music, stop the timer, and more (available on Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2).
• NameDrop lets you exchange contact information with someone new by simply bringing your Apple Watch closer to their iOS 17 iPhone or Apple Watch (Available on Apple Watch SE 2, Apple Watch Series 7 and later, and Apple Watch Ultra).
• The My Business Card feature is available as a complication for quick access to the NameDrop feature.
• Fixed a bug that caused the climate section in the Home app to be empty
• Addresses an issue that causes a white selection box to appear unexpectedly after AssistiveTouch is turned off.
• Fixes an issue where cities in the Weather app may not sync between iPhone and watch.
• Addresses an issue where a scroll bar may appear unexpectedly on the display

• Fixes an issue where system services settings within Location Services could reset
