iOS 16.4 is now available to the public. After a relatively long wait, Apple users have finally seen the arrival of the next update of the operating system, labeled iOS 16.4 and iPadOS 16.4, which brings with it a number of other rather interesting novelties. If you own a compatible iPhone or iPad, you will have the update available now. Just go to Settings > In general > Software update and download and install the update.

This update includes the following improvements and bug fixes:

  • 21 new animal, hand gesture and object emoticons are available on the emoticon keyboard
  • Web apps added to the desktop can display notifications
  • Voice isolation for mobile calls accentuates your voice and blocks out ambient noise
  • The Duplicates album in Photos now supports the detection of duplicate photos and videos in shared iCloud photo libraries
  • Maps in the Weather app now support VoiceOver
  • The accessibility setting allows you to automatically mute videos in which flashes or stroboscopic effects have been detected
  • Fixed a bug that sometimes prevented approval requests for children's purchases from appearing on the parent's device
  • Fixed issues with Matter compatible thermostats that could sometimes become unresponsive after pairing with Apple Home
  • Crash detection on iPhone 14 and 14 Pro models has been optimized
