Last night, Apple released the tenth beta version of iOS 12. This week, this is the second beta of the operating system for iPhones and iPads that Apple has sent to developers. Together with the firmware for developers, the eighth public beta for testers was released.

The update can be found classically in Settings -> In general -> updates software, i.e. provided that the device has the appropriate beta profile. The very size of the installation package (68 MB in the case of the iPhone X) suggests that there is really little news. In what is probably the last beta, Apple focused primarily on optimizing performance and fixing the latest bugs. A few minor changes did happen, let's summarize them.

List of news:

  1. The system is again slightly faster, especially on older models of iPhones and iPads. For example, the Camera application experienced a noticeable acceleration.
  2. There is a new option for a specific face in the People & Places section of the Photos app Add more photos.
  3. In the Notifications settings, it is now possible to set individual notifications for your favorite email inbox and thus separate it from others.
  4. Apple has returned haptic feedback to the iPhone 6s when the app switcher is empty.
  5. Fixed a bug that caused the keyboard to get stuck when using the trackpad feature on older iPhones without 3D Touch.
  6. Fixed bug causing phone to freeze when setting wallpaper.
  7. The Traffic feature in Apple Maps is working again.
