Dan Pražák As Apple promised during today's Keynote, it happened. A little while ago, the company released the new iOS 12.2 for all users, which brings several new features. The update also includes bug fixes and a few other improvements.
You can download iOS 12.2 on iPhone and iPad in Settings -> In general -> Software update. For iPhone X, you need to download the 824,3 MB installation package. The new software is available to owners of compatible devices, which are all iPhones, iPads and iPod touches that support iOS 12.
The main news of iOS 12.2 are mainly better voice messages sent via iMessage, a clearer list of transactions in the Wallet application, the ability to set a quiet mode for individual days in the Screen Time function, improvements for Safari and Apple Music, as well as support for the new AirPods. iPhones and iPads with Face ID received four new Animoji with the arrival of the system. Apple Maps users in the US, UK and India can now enjoy the air quality index. On the contrary, an indicator of the remaining time until the end of the device warranty will be useful for everyone. - Four new animoji - owl, wild boar, giraffe and shark - for iPhone X or later, 12,9-inch iPad Pro (3rd generation) and 11-inch iPad Pro
AirPlay
- Dedicated TV controls in Control Center and on the lock screen provide quick access to TV controls
- AirPlay multitasking for video lets you browse other apps and play short audio and video files locally without interrupting AirPlay
- Target AirPlay devices are now grouped by content type, so you can now find the device you want faster
Apple Pay
- Apple Pay Cash customers who have a Visa debit card can now instantly transfer money to their bank accounts
- The Wallet app now clearly displays credit and debit transactions in Apple Pay directly below the card
Screen time
- For quiet time, it is possible to set a separate schedule for each day of the week
- A new switch makes it easy to temporarily turn app limits on and off
Safari
- After automatically filling in the password, the login to the website will now take place automatically
- A warning is now displayed when an insecure website is loaded
- Removed support for the deprecated tracking protection so that it could not potentially be used as an identification variable; the new Smart Tracking Prevention now automatically prevents your web browsing from being tracked
- Queries in the dynamic search box can now be changed by clicking the arrow icon next to the search suggestions
Apple Music
- The Browse panel displays multiple alerts from editors on one page, making it easier to discover new music, playlists, and more
AirPods
- Support for the new AirPods (2nd generation)
This update also brings the following improvements and bug fixes:
- Adds support for air quality index in Maps for US, UK and India
- In Settings, you can find information about how much time is left until the end of the device's warranty
- On iPhone 8 or later, 12,9-inch iPad Pro (3rd generation), and 11-inch iPad Pro, a "5G E" icon is displayed to indicate that the user is in areas where AT&T's 5G Evolution network is available
- Improves the quality of audio recordings in Messages
- Improves the stability and functionality of the Apple TV Remote on iOS
- Fixes an issue that prevented some missed calls from being displayed in the Notification Center
- Addresses an issue that could cause a badge to appear on the Settings icon even when no action was required
- Addresses an issue in Settings > General > iPhone Storage where the bar graph could display incorrect storage information for some large apps and in the System and Other categories
- Fixes an issue that could cause recordings in the Voice Recorder app to play automatically when connected to a Bluetooth device in the car
- Addresses an issue that could temporarily prevent you from renaming recordings in the Voice Recorder app
Improves the stability and functionality of the Apple TV Remote on iOS — so that's why it works for me for 15 seconds and then freezes for another 15 seconds…. I tried it 4 times and the same every time.
