Apple released iOS 11.1.2 to all users later yesterday evening. This is the seventh iteration of the iOS 11 operating system, which was released in September. iOS 11.1.2 comes exactly one week after Apple released the previous version of iOS 11.1.1, which fixed annoying auto-correct text bugs. The version released yesterday focuses on the problems in the iPhone X, mainly the annoyances with the display, which did not work when the phone was in an environment around zero temperature.

The update is available in the classic way for everyone who has a compatible device. You can download it via Settings – General – Software Update. This update is just over 50MB. In addition to fixing the display behavior, the new update addresses specific problems with Live photos and videos captured on the iPhone X. It is not yet clear if anything changes for users who install the update on another phone. You can read the changelog, which appeared only in English this time, below.

iOS 11.1.2 includes bug fixes for your iPhone and iPad. This update:
– Fixes an issue where the iPhone X screen becomes temporarily unresponsive to touch after a rapid temperature drop
– Addresses an issue that could cause distortion in Live Photos and videos captured with iPhone X
