Since yesterday's release of the iOS 12 operating system, the long-awaited application has been available for download in the App Store for all users Abbreviations (Shortcuts). Apple introduced this for the first time at this year's WWDC. The application, which will allow users to automate a variety of procedures in cooperation with Siri, from launching applications to communication to controlling smart home elements, has replaced the Workflow application in the App Store. Apple bought it at the beginning of last year. Users who have Workflow installed on their iOS device just need to update - the transition to Shortcuts will then be completely automatic.

So far, users have been able to learn only piecemeal information about Shortcuts - only selected developers could test the application as such based on an invitation. Shortcuts bring expanding possibilities of automation for both iPhone and iPad, and the number of applications that will offer its support will gradually increase.

Shortcuts have a simple, clear user interface in which even less technically proficient users can set up the automation. The menu includes both preset shortcuts and the option of creating your own procedure. Users can also draw inspiration for creating individual shortcuts from the website Sharecuts. This is the fault of Gulherme Rambo, who wanted to create a platform on which users and developers would share created shortcuts with each other.
