Apple has released an update for the MacBook Air to address the battery drain issue

For mid-2013 MacBook Airs, Apple has released an SMC firmware update version 2.0 that addresses an issue that could cause the battery to drain unexpectedly quickly when the lid is closed.

This update is recommended for MacBook Air (Mid 2013) models. The update addresses an issue that could cause the battery to drain unexpectedly quickly if the computer was closed.

This is Apple's second battery-related MacBook Air fix since last October version 1.9 addressed possible unexpected termination of battery operation.

You can download the latest update from the Mac App Store or on the Apple website.

The closed MBA was really draining incredibly fast. Perhaps faster than normal work. Hopefully it will be ok.

I have a similar problem with MBA mid (2012)...I thought about whether I could also install the update.
