After several beta versions intended for testing by developers, Apple released an update to the OS X Mountain Lion operating system with the designation 10.8.4. The update doesn't bring any major new features, it's more of a set of fixes and improvements. In particular, fixing Wi-Fi issues is more than welcome. Specifically, OS X 10.8.4 improves and fixes the following:

  • Compatibility when connecting to some wide area networks.
  • Compatibility with Microsoft Exchange in the calendar.
  • An issue that prevented FaceTime with users of non-US phone numbers. The problem that caused iMessage to stop working should also disappear.
  • An issue that could prevent planned hibernation after using Boot Camp.
  • Voiceover compatibility with text in PDF documents.
  • Safari 6.0.5.

The update can be downloaded from the Mac App Store in the Updates tab and requires a computer restart after installation.
