You've probably noticed what's been happening in Texas, USA, in recent days. Hurricane Harvey is ravaging the coast, and so far it seems that it still does not want to rest. Thus, a huge wave of solidarity rose in the United States. People are sending money to collection accounts and big companies are also trying to help as much as they can. Some financially, others materially. Tim Cook sent an email to his employees on Wednesday, in which he describes what Apple will do for the disabled and how employees themselves can help in this situation.

Apple has its own crisis management teams in affected areas to assist employees working in areas affected by Hurricane Harvey, particularly in the area around Houston. These teams help, for example, with moving to safe places, evacuation, etc. The employees themselves in the damaged areas help the people around them who were somehow affected by this natural disaster. They provide asylum in cases where it is possible, or even participate in individual evacuation operations.

The US Coast Guard is said to be actively using Apple products, especially iPads, which they use in planning and conducting rescue operations. More than twenty helicopters are equipped with iPads, which help them in operational deployment.

Before the hurricane made landfall, Apple launched a special collection where users can send their money. Employees also send money to this account, and Apple adds twice as much from its own cash to their deposits. Since the beginning of the crisis, Apple has donated more than three million dollars to the American Red Cross.

Although many stores around Houston are still closed at the moment, Apple is working to open them as soon as possible so that these spaces can serve as relief stations for all the disabled in the area. Apple is also involved in activities related to the distribution of water and food to affected areas. The company definitely does not plan to relax in its activities and everyone is ready to help as much as possible. Apple has roughly 8 employees in the affected areas.
