Apple products have come a long way in recent years. This of course applies across the entire portfolio, from popular iPhones to Apple Watch and Macs to other smart devices. With each generation, apple users can enjoy higher performance, new software and many other benefits. Devices from the Cupertino giant are also built on two basic pillars, i.e. an emphasis on privacy and security.

It is precisely because of this that "apples" are often referred to as generally safer products than the competition, which is most often mentioned in the context of the endless iOS vs. Android. However, the giant is not going to stop there when it comes to performance, privacy and security. Recent developments show what Apple sees as another long-term goal. We are talking about the emphasis on the health of users.

Apple Watch as the main protagonist

In Apple's offer for a long time, we can find products that pay attention to the health of their users in their own way. In this regard, we are undoubtedly coming up against the Apple Watch. Apple watches have the greatest impact on the health of apple users, as they are used not only for displaying incoming notifications, messages and calls, but also for detailed monitoring of physical activities, health data and sleep. Thanks to its sensors, the watch can reliably measure heart rate, ECG, blood oxygen saturation, body temperature, or monitor the regularity of the heart rhythm or automatically detect a fall or car accident.

However, it certainly does not end there. In the course of the last few years, Apple has added a number of other gadgets. From the already mentioned sleep monitoring, through noise measurement or monitoring of proper hand washing, to help with mental health through the native Mindfulness application. So only one thing clearly follows from this. The Apple Watch is a rather handy assistant that not only simplifies the user's daily life, but also monitors his health functions. The data from the sensors are subsequently all available in one place - within the native Health application, where apple users can view various attributes or their general condition.

It doesn't end with the watch

As we mentioned above, the main protagonist in the emphasis on health could be the Apple Watch, mainly thanks to several important sensors and functions that have the potential to even save human lives. However, it doesn't have to end with a watch, quite the opposite. Some other products also play an important role for the health of users. In this regard, we must mention no other than the iPhone. It is an imaginary headquarters for the secure storage of all important data. As we have already mentioned, these are available under Health. In the same way, with the arrival of the iPhone 14 (Pro) series, even Apple phones received a function for detecting a car accident. But it is a question whether they will see a bigger expansion and offer something like the Apple Watch in the future. However, we should not (currently) count on that.

Rather than the iPhone, we will probably see an important shift soon with a slightly different product. For a long time, there have been various speculations that talk about the deployment of interesting sensors and functions with a focus on health in the Apple AirPods headphones. These speculations are most often made in connection with the AirPods Pro model, but it is possible that other models will also see it in the final. Some leaks talk, for example, about the deployment of a sensor for measuring body temperature, which could improve the quality of recorded data overall. However, another interesting piece of information has recently surfaced. Mark Gurman, a Bloomberg reporter, came up with a rather interesting report. According to his sources, the Apple AirPods headphones can be used as high-quality hearing aids. The headphones already have this function from the very beginning, but the truth is that it is not a certified product, so they cannot be called true hearing aids. That should change for everyone in the next year or two.

So a clear idea flows from this. Apple is trying to push health more and more and improve its products accordingly. At least this is evident from the recent developments and at the same time available leaks and speculations. About that Apple sees importance in health and wants to pay more attention to it, Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, spoke at the end of 2020. It will therefore be interesting to see what news the Cupertino giant will present to us and what it will actually show.
