Apple released last night official announcement, in which it boasts that it employs, either directly or indirectly, almost 2,5 million people in the United States of America. This is by far the highest number in the company's history.

Apple claims in its press release that this is an amount that is almost four times higher than it was eight years ago. At the same time, the company is also reportedly on track to contribute roughly $350 billion to the US economy annually.

The specific amount of directly and indirectly employed people exceeds 2,4 million people. These are mainly employees of Apple as such, as well as employees of various suppliers and subcontractors who cooperate with Apple to a greater or lesser extent. In addition to employees, Apple reportedly spent up to $60 billion in 2018, benefiting more than 9 US companies that do business with Apple.

The App Store alone is said to be responsible for nearly two million jobs, according to Apple, given the number of American developers who contribute to it. As such, Apple currently employs approximately 90 Americans across 50 states. In addition, an additional 4 jobs are expected to be created in the next four years, especially with regard to the newly built Apple campuses in San Diego and Seattle, which are expected to open in the coming years.
