Many buy a new model of headphones after two years. However, there is a way to exchange AirPods for a piece and save significantly.
Battery degradation is a fairly common occurrence in consumer electronics. But in the case of AirPods, the decreasing battery life is a little more visible with each passing year, and for some users, after almost three years of use, the earphones last only 15-30 minutes during a call (instead of the original 2 hours). Due to the design and construction of the AirPods, it is basically impossible to replace the batteries without causing permanent damage to the headphones. After all, this is also why Apple always replaces them with a new piece when claiming the warranty.

If you request to replace your AirPods due to low battery life, you'll get a new model for a reduced price of $138 — although it's a discount, not a major one. But if you mention "battery service" in relation to the AirPods, the staff will offer to replace each earbud for $49. The charging case usually doesn't need to be changed and therefore you can save at least $40 this way, while you get new AirPods with a brand new battery and therefore the originally guaranteed durability. In Germany and Austria, the exchange will cost €55 (approx. 1 crowns).
As standard, Apple offers a separate AirPods for $69 (€75). But if it comes to the battery service, when they also only replace the old earphone with a new one, then AirPod will cost you only 49 dollars (€55), which is also confirmed by dokument on the company's website. The only condition is to mention "battery sevice". In our country, one AirPod is sold for 2 CZK and you can find it, for example in the iWant menu. It is for this reason that it is advisable to try an exchange at the Apple Store, because you will save more than a thousand crowns in conversion and one handset.
Apple is currently unable to determine in any way how long the battery in the AirPods should last and above all cannot test its condition. If you've noticed a drop in battery life and your AirPods are still under warranty, Apple will always replace them with a new one free of charge.
