Apple has come out with a fairly fundamental change in service policy. Until now, iPhone services worked in such a way that if the user had a non-original battery installed in his phone in an unauthorized service, he automatically lost the warranty and Apple could even refuse to repair the device, even if the fault did not directly concern the battery itself. That is changing now.

Even if the damage concerns the battery itself or is not related to it at all.

Newly, service centers can also exchange an old (damaged) iPhone for a new one even if a non-original battery from an unauthorized service was installed in it, which cannot be replaced - either due to incorrect installation or damage. The new rules regarding the changed service conditions went into effect last Thursday and should apply to certified services worldwide. The batteries are dead displays another component for which Apple does not mind their non-original origin and non-certified installation. However, strict conditions still apply to all other parts, i.e. if you have a non-original motherboard, microphone, camera or anything else in your iPhone, the authorized service will not repair your device.
