Each of you must have at least once read a report about how a human life was saved with the help of the Apple Watch. Apple bets heavily on this feature of its smart watch and emphasizes it accordingly. This is also evidenced by the videos that the company published this week. They show real stories of people whose lives were saved by their Apple watch.

The first, four-minute spot, tells the story of several different people: a man with blood clots, a kitesurfer who managed to contact his son after an accident with the help of his Apple Watch, or a thirteen-year-old boy whose Apple Watch alerted him to an unusually fast heartbeat. The video also features a mother who, after a car accident in which she and her child were stuck in the car, called the emergency services via Apple Watch.

The second, approximately ninety thirds long video, tells the story of a man who is paralyzed as a result of cerebral palsy. His Apple Watch also alerted him to changes in vital signs, thanks to which doctors managed to detect sepsis in time and save his life.

Both clips came out at the same time Apple released watchOS 5.1.2. Among other things, it includes the long-promised and long-awaited ECG measurement function. The recording can be retrieved by placing your finger on the watch's digital crown. Apple Watch can inform users about possible symptoms of various complications. However, Apple stresses that the watch is in no way intended to replace professional diagnostic examinations.
