In recent years, Apple has quite noticeably relied on privacy and emphasis on the overall security of its products. Of course, it doesn't end there. It is precisely Apple that quite often comments on the ecological situation or climate change, and accordingly takes appropriate steps. It has long been no secret that the Cupertino company would like to be completely carbon neutral by 2030, not only in Cupertino itself, but right across the entire supply chain.

However, Apple is not going to stop there, quite the opposite. Now quite interesting information has come to the surface that the company is going to take further drastic steps that should significantly ease the burden on our planet and contribute to solving the climate crisis. Apple officially announced these changes today via a press release in its Newsroom. Let's therefore shed some light on his plans and what will change specifically.

Use of recycled materials

Today's big reveal is the planned use of recycled materials. Until 2025, Apple is planning fairly fundamental changes that, in the overall scale of production, can do a lot of good for our planet. Specifically, it plans to use 100% recycled cobalt in its batteries - all Apple batteries will therefore be based on recycled cobalt, which actually makes this metal reusable. However, this is only the main announcement, with more to come. Likewise, all magnets used in Apple devices will be made from 100% recycled precious metals. Likewise, all Apple circuit boards should use 100% recycled gold plating and 100% recycled tin in connection with soldering.

Apple could afford to accelerate its plans like this thanks to the extensive changes it has implemented in recent years. In fact, by 2022, 20% of all materials received by Apple will come from renewable and recycled sources, which clearly speaks to the company's overall philosophy and approach. This way, the giant gets one step closer to its long-term goal. As we mentioned above, Apple's goal is to produce every single product with a literally neutral carbon footprint in 2030, which is a rather drastic and extremely important step by today's standards, which can inspire the entire segment and move it forward at a fundamental pace.

Apple pickers cheer

Apple caused a huge halo among its supporters with this move. The apple growers are literally cheering and are downright excited about this positive news. Specifically, they appreciate the efforts of Apple, which is trying to take appropriate steps and thus help the planet in managing the aforementioned climate crisis. However, it is a question whether other technological giants will catch on, especially those from China. Therefore, it will definitely be interesting to see in which direction this whole situation will go.
