There have been talks about Apple's own entertainment production from the company's workshop for two years, and so far we haven't seen any tangible results - if we don't count not-so-well-reviewed projects like Planet of the Apps or Carpool Karaoke. In recent months, information has appeared about how Apple intends to invest hundreds of millions of dollars in this effort, as well as how the company manages to sign well-known (or less well-known) directors and producers who will produce the original content.

At the end of last week, the news appeared on the web that Apple managed to sign another "big fish" of the American show business, namely the famous presenter (and recently also a political activist) Oprah Winfrey. The information was released by Apple itself, which published a press release on its website (you can read it here).

It says the company has signed a multi-year deal with the popular host, which will see the "producer, actress, host, philanthropist and director of OWN" create several original programs that will be available exclusively on Apple's new and planned platform . It is Oprah that will allow her to connect even better with her fans around the world.

Oprah Winfrey

Oprah Winfrey is a strong media brand (especially in the US), but in recent years it has not been pulling as well as it used to (at least based on show ratings). However, Apple's management decided that they needed someone like that. We'll see if this move pays off for them or not. However, after a short hiatus, this is another well-known personality who has signed up to Apple (and its original content).
