Eight years after its release, the life cycle of the second generation of the iPad generation ends. The iPad, introduced on March 2, 2011, has been placed on the list of obsolete and unsupported products that Apple has posted on its website.

This list contains all Apple products that are no longer officially supported. Typically, a product's life cycle is terminated in this way after reaching a minimum of five to seven years from the time the device officially ceased production. Exceptions are, for example, California and Turkey, where due to local legislation, the company has to support old equipment for a few more years. Thus, the 2nd generation iPad is currently beyond repair in the official service network.

The second generation iPad was available for three years, sales through Apple's official channels ended in 2014. Official software support for the second iPad ended in September 2016. The last version of the iOS operating system that could be installed on this iPad was iOS 9.3.5. XNUMX.

The second iPad was the last iOS product to be introduced by Steve Jobs at a keynote. Inside was an A5 processor, a 9,7″ display with a resolution of 1024×768, and the device was charged using the old 30-pin connector that Apple had abandoned since the 4th generation. Another interesting fact was that the 2nd generation iPad was one of the longest supported products, as it supported a total of 6 versions of the iOS operating system during its life cycle – from iOS 4 to iOS 9.
