With rather surprising news he came Mark Gurman of 9to5Mac. According to his information, the upcoming 9,7-inch iPad will not be called the iPad Air 3, as previously expected, but the iPad Pro. Tablets from Apple will probably be labeled according to the same key as the MacBook Pro, which is also available in two sizes. Just as we have 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pros, we will have 9,7-inch and 12,9-inch iPad Pros.

The new iPad with a traditional diagonal is due to be introduced on Tuesday 15 March and will have almost the same hardware specifications as the large iPad Pro. The successor to the iPad Air 2 should bring a powerful A9X processor, larger RAM, should support the Apple Pencil and should also have a Smart Connector for connecting external accessories, including a Smart Keyboard.

The new "medium" iPad should also bring better sound, which will be provided by stereo speakers, following the example of the large iPad Pro. You can then expect the same color variants and the same range of storage sizes. However, the price should not be too different from the one and a half year old iPad Air 2.

The end of sales of the original iPad Air and the older iPad mini 2 is also quite likely, their production has already been reduced. The range of iPads should therefore include two sizes of iPad Pro, iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 4, from mid-March.

As part of the March keynote, Apple is to introduce more than the new iPad the four-inch iPhone 5se and new variants of Watch bands.
