At the beginning of 2019, we saw the introduction of the brand new Apple TV+ streaming platform. At that time, Apple dived fully into the streaming services market and came up with its own competitor for a giant like Netflix.  TV+ has been here with us for over 3 years, during which time we have seen a number of interesting original programs and films, which received quite positive feedback in the eyes of critics. This is clearly demonstrated by the achievements awarded by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, from which Apple won several Oscars.

Just now, a rather interesting piece of news swept through the apple growing community. At the 95th Academy Awards this weekend, Apple received another Oscar, this time in partnership with the BBC for an animated short A boy, a mole, a fox and a horse (in the original The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse). As we already hinted, this is not the first Oscar that Apple has won for its own work. In the past, for example, the drama V rytmu srdce (CODA) also received the award. So only one thing clearly follows from this. The content on  TV+ is definitely worth it. Even so, the service is not exactly the most popular, on the contrary. It lags behind its competition in the number of subscribers.

Quality does not guarantee success

So, as we mentioned above, the content on  TV+ is definitely worth it. After all, the positive reviews of the subscribers themselves, the positive evaluations on comparison portals and the awards themselves, which the images available on the platform have received so far, testify to this. Even so, Apple with its service lags behind behind available competition in the form of Netflix, HBO Max, Disney+, Amazon Prime Video and others. But when we look at the available content, which collects one positive rating after another, then this development doesn't even make sense. An important question therefore arises. Why is  TV+ not as popular as the competition?

This question can be looked at from several directions. First of all, it is necessary to mention that the content and its overall quality is not everything that the subscribers are interested in, and it certainly does not guarantee definitive success. After all, this is exactly the case with Apple's streaming platform. Although it has a lot to offer and is proud of relatively high-quality content, from which practically every fan of films and series can choose, it still cannot compete with other services. Apple doesn't quite know how to properly sell these available programs and present them to exactly those people who would be interested in them and subsequently willing to subscribe to the service.

It is therefore unclear for now whether we will see any major changes in the near future. The apple company has worked extensively on content as such and invested huge amounts of money in it. But as it turned out, it certainly does not end there. Now is the time to present this work to the right target group, which could bring more subscribers and generally raise the service as such a few steps forward.
