Apple has received the first award for its new streaming service Apple TV+. Historically the first prize for an original project from Apple's workshop went to the series The Morning Show, more or less praised by critics.

The Critic Choice Awards took place tonight and Billy Crudup, who plays Cory Ellison on The Morning Show, won the Best Supporting Actor category. For Apple or works from the production of Apple TV+ was the only nomination, but that makes its transformation all the more valuable.

With his victory, Billy Crudup surpassed other big names of the serial scene. Other nominees included, for example, Petr Dinklage, as Tyrion Lannister from Game of Thrones, or Tim Blake Nelson from the Watchmen series.

The series The Morning Show is rated rather above average among the viewers, it finally got a positive rating even from critics who were somewhat skeptical of this project after the first episodes. The series ended up earning three nominations at last week's Golden Globes, but it didn't convert any of them. Even the nominations themselves were ultimately a success, according to Apple, as it was supposed to be the first case in history when a completely new streaming service received nominations for some of its projects during its first year of operation.

As for the winning The Morning Show, the second series is currently being filmed, which should appear in the Apple TV+ catalog sometime in the second half of this year.
