Adam Kos A new study has revealed that Apple TV+ has the highest quality content compared to Netflix, HBO Max, Prime Video, Disney + and Hulu. Company analysis Self Financial she found this out based on the site's evaluation IMDb from US users. Of course, it's no surprise - although Apple TV+ had the highest average score for its titles, namely 7,24 out of 10, it has significantly less content to choose from. When it comes to genre breakdown, Apple TV+ has the highest percentage of "good" and "great" titles. They make up almost 86% of the content of the service's entire library. Again, however, the results are calculated from the smallest available offer, which is only 65 titles.
Clear strategy
With its Apple TV+, Apple is making a strategy that it wants to strive for quality and not for quantity. For that reason, although there is less content, on the other hand, it is of better quality than the competition offers. In addition, the statistics are based on the ratings of ordinary viewers and not of film critics, which in itself has a considerable telling value. But the second question is how much you actually get for your money. When Apple it's simply not enough, although there is still a year of free service after the company's newly purchased device.
SOCIETY Self Financial analyzed all available movie genres and which streaming services achieve the best ratings in them. For example, a document Tiny World (Small World) from Apple Originals is on IMDb graded 9 (94% on ČSFD), but the overall average of this category suffered due to another documentary series, namely greatness -- (The Secret of Success). It has a rating of only 4,5 points (at ČSFD it is 52%).

Apple received a total of 345 nominations for various awards, of which it turned 91 into victories. These are prestigious awards such as Critics Choice Awards, Reviews Choice Documentary Awards, Daytime and prime time Emmy Awards, NAACP Image Awards, Peabody Award, Golden Globe Award and more.

The study further states that 62% of all American households already pay one straddling service. There is no doubt that this way of consuming the visual experience is a trend. In addition, new and new services are constantly being added. But it is a question whether Apple TV+ will not be lost in them over time. Quality is a nice thing, but if you don't have something to look at, you simply won't want to pay for it. Although it is true that the service itself will begin to make real sense only with the passage of time.
Other key findings from the analysis:
- Netflix has the best gaming content of any streaming service (6,75 rating IMDb)
- HBO Max has the best documentaries, Disney+ has the highest rated sci-fi content
- Hulu has the top-rated comedies (137), but Netflix (1) and HBO Max (785) have far more
- HBO Max has half the amount of horror content (171) compared to Netflix (359), but achieves better quality (6,21 vs 5,19)
- Apple TV+ focuses on drama, as it will offer 47 titles in this genre
Apart from the two or three series on Apple TV, there is nothing for the Czech viewer.
The annual free subscription is quietly ticking away in our family, HBO and Netflix are completely different.
From an English speaking viewer's perspective, you keep forgetting about Amazon Prime. A+ is simply on the tail.
