Apple TV+ and Apple Original Films are celebrating. The nominations for the Oscars were announced, where the Apple production received a total of six nominations, including the most prestigious one for best feature film. It thus follows on from last year's nominations, where the production also figured, thus confirming its direction of creating really high-quality content.

Apple TV+ debuted on November 1, 2019 and already received its first ever Oscar nominations last year. These were the films Werewolves, which was nominated for best animated film, and Greyhound, which was nominated for best sound. These nominations practically came already during the first year of service.

Now the portfolio of nominations has grown considerably. The one for the picture is clearly the most important V heart rhythm, which is nominated for Best Feature Film. It also adds nominations for supporting actor (Troy Kotsur) and adapted screenplay (Siân Heder). In the case of an acting nomination, this is also the first time that a deaf actor has been nominated here. Macbeth it also has three nominations, for best cinematography (Bruno Delbonnel), best set design and, above all, best actor in a leading role (Denzel Washington).

Whether the general public likes it or not, Apple wants to provide quality content, which the critics also prove with their nominations. Of the few films that are available on Apple TV+, it is truly a success that two films receive so many nominations. If you then look at Netflix, the leader in video streaming, it waited considerably longer for its first such nomination, even though this year its production received a record 36 nominations (last year it was 24).

The company itself was officially founded in August 1997, but it only operated as a DVD rental company for a monthly subscription. She started streaming videos only in 2007. However, she waited for her production's first Oscar nomination until 2014, when academics noticed the documentary The Square, which depicts the Egyptian crisis.
