Apple TV 4K (2021) 120Hz Unfortunately, it cannot transfer video for now. When Apple presented this news in April this year, it boasted about the arrival of HDR Dolby Vision and an increase in the maximum supported refresh rate to the aforementioned 120 Hz. Because of this, of course, the HDMI 2.0 port was also replaced with version 2.1, which can handle such transmission. However, as was already confirmed immediately after the Keynote, we will have to wait a little longer for the 120Hz image.

Unfortunately, the giant from Cupertino did not provide any further information on when the possibility of 120Hz transmission will be made available to apple growers through a software update. Many of us assumed that this would be the case with the first update, which by the way came just yesterday. Apple released the tvOS 14.6 system to the public, and although the aforementioned option did not appear in the earlier beta versions, we were all still kind of hoping. It was found in the code of the beta version of tvOS 14.5 mention with a higher refresh rate. But it came out before the introduction of the Apple TV itself and only gave us a hint of what the apple company is going to come up with. Whether it is possible to use the Apple TV 4K (2021) in 4K/1080p with 120 Hz was tested with our own eyes and on our sister magazine Letem svět Applem, unfortunately but unsuccessfully. So when will we actually see it?

The upcoming conference will likely play a role in this WWDC21, during which new operating systems will be revealed. Of course, tvOS 15 will not be missing among them. At the presentation itself, Apple could boast of the arrival of support for 120Hz transmission, which will once again win the attention of Apple fans to the latest generation of Apple TV.
