The big news in iOS 8 was supposed to be health and fitness applications collecting various biometric data and then sharing them via HealthKit, Apple's new developer platform. But Apple discovered a serious bug just before the launch of iOS 8 and pulled all apps with HealthKit integration. The issue should be resolved by the end of the month.

Apple engineers have discovered a major bug in HealthKit, which is why they prefer to download all new and updated apps that support it. This is a big inconvenience for the entire new mobile operating system, which includes the Healt application, which was supposed to collect data from third-party applications.

"We've discovered a bug that prevents us from releasing HealthKit apps today," an Apple spokesperson told the magazine Ars Technica. "We are working quickly on a fix to release HealthKit apps by the end of the month."

All developers who have integrated HealthKit into their applications can hope that Apple will really solve the discovered bug as soon as possible. Until then, both they, the users, and the Health app in iOS 8 will suffer.
