Apple launched three new functionalities in its App Store. The announcement first came in June at WWDC 2014, where the developers welcomed the news very positively. Now, Apple has let developers know that the features are already live. What is it about?

App Bundles

All members of the iOS Developer Program providing paid apps can create so-called app bundles. These are nothing more than groups of applications (the maximum number is set at ten) at a reduced price. The purchase is made in the same way as when purchasing a single application.

To create a bundle, developers must select apps in iTunes Connect, name the bundle, write a brief description, and set a price. Customers who have already purchased an application from the given package will see the price adjusted according to previous purchases. So they won't have to pay the full price of the package.

App Previews

In addition to screenshots of the app to demonstrate its features and appearance, new developers can also attach a short (must be between 15 and 30 seconds) video demo. It will be shown first, followed by screenshots.

To capture the action on the screen of an iOS device, you need to have iOS 8 installed on it and to have it connected to a Mac running OS X Yosemite. Editing of the recorded video can be done in any editor, however, for uploading via iTunes Connect, it must meet the rules (App Preview Guidelines).

Beta testing with TestFlight

Developers have the option to send unreleased builds of their applications to up to 25 selected testers. It is enough to turn on Internal Testing in iTunes Connect and send out invitations. Testers can continue to download build updates. In TestFlight, in addition to the above, testers can leave feedback to debug the final application. This is the stage before the larger public beta testing, which Apple has recently opened up to 1000 users. However, such a version of the application will first have to be approved by Apple's development team. The aforementioned exclusive builds for 25 testers can be tested without having to go through the approval process. TestFlight is downloadable in App Store.
