In March, as part of a special conference, Apple presented four services and thus outlined its intention to use its user base as inefficiently as possible and offer them content for a regular monthly fee. While Apple News+ and Apple Card can already be used by those interested in selected countries, we are still waiting for Apple TV+ and Apple Arcade. However, we should expect the last-mentioned service in the near future, because the company has started internal testing these days, and we thus get a first look at what the game-oriented platform presented by Apple will look like.

Currently, Apple Arcade is only available to employees of the company, for a symbolic monthly fee of $0,49 (approximately 11 crowns), with the option of using a one-month trial period for free. The test program is due to end on the day of the release of iOS 13, so it can be expected that the service will be available to regular users from around mid-September - this is when Apple usually releases new versions of its operating systems.

The server also gained access to the test version of Apple Arcade 9to5mac, which shows for the first time what Apple's gaming platform will look like. The service received a dedicated tab in the (Mac) App Store and will only be accessible through the app store on iOS, macOS and tvOS.

The welcome screen entices with a large banner and a button to use the free monthly period and therefore to try the service. In the lower part, selected games are highlighted, which the user gets after registration. Apple, for example, beckons for a title Down in bermuda about the aviator Milton, who embarked on an adventurous journey across the Atlantic, for a nostalgic game Hot lava, in which your main task is to run, jump and climb, or on Way of the turtle, where you play as two curious turtles lost on a cursed island.

The selected game can be downloaded to the device classically via the "Get" button, i.e. the same as now with free games. The game detail includes not only a description of the title itself, but also information about the age restriction, category, developer, size and, above all, whether the game supports the controller and what languages it is translated into.

Most of the games are currently still in the development stage, which is indicated in their description, among other things. In addition to the aforementioned, testers now also have access to Sneaky Sasquatch, Kings of the Castle, Frogger in Toy Town and Lame Game 2. By the time Apple Arcade launches, users should have a choice of more than 100 different titles, which we already listed in March within of this article. It is not yet clear whether the games from Apple Arcade will also be available for purchase through the App Store, but it can be assumed that they will not.

Apple has also not yet specified how much it will charge for Apple Arcade per month. However, there is an assumption that the service will cost similar to Apple Music, i.e. 149 CZK per month. The good news is that Apple Arcade should also be available for Czech and Slovak users.
