Apple has launched a new service program for the iPhone 8, under which it offers a free motherboard repair for models affected by problems with frequent restarts and system freezes.

According to Apple itself, the mentioned problem affects only a really small percentage of iPhone 8. The defect was already caused during the production of the motherboard, and its repair requires experienced technicians from authorized services. The interesting thing is that the ailment only affects iPhone 8, the larger iPhone 8 Plus does not suffer from the described problems.

In addition, Apple says in the program description that the defect occurs in models sold between September 2017 and March 2018 in China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Macau, the US and New Zealand. However, if you encountered a problem, then directly to these pages you can check if you're eligible for a free repair too - just enter your phone's serial number.

If your device is included in the program, then you just need to either visit the Apple Store or contact one of the authorized Apple services - you can find a list of the Czech ones <a href="https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1932/8043/files/200721_ODSTOUPENI_BEZ_UDANI_DUVODU__EN.pdf?v=1595428404" data-gt-href-en="https://en.notsofunnyany.com/">here</a>. However, Apple notes in the document that the repair should be done in the country where the phone was purchased. If the device is damaged (for example, a cracked screen), it is necessary to have the device repaired first, again either at an authorized service center or at an Apple Store.

The new service program for the iPhone 8 can be used within three years of the first sale of the given item.
