Apple introduced a new version of its Safari browser, which is intended for web developers and offers some technologies that users cannot yet find in regular Safari.

Apple plans to update the Safari Technology Preview roughly every two weeks, giving web developers the chance to try out the biggest updates in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or WebKit.

Safari Technology Preview will also work seamlessly with iCloud, so users will have settings and bookmarks available. This involves signing the software and distributing it through the Mac App Store.

The Technology Preview will offer one of the most complete implementations of ECMAScript 6, the latest version of the JavaScript standard, the B3 JIT JavaScript compiler, a redesigned and thus more stable implementation of IndexedDB, and support for Shadow DOM.

Safari Technology Preview is available for download on Apple's developer portal, however you do not need to be registered as a developer to download.

Just as developers have had access to the so-called Beta and Canary builds of the Google Chrome browser for a long time, Apple is now allowing developers to see what's new in WebKit and other technologies.
