Apple announced the launch of a new service program. This applies to the Apple Watch Series 2 and Series 3. As part of the program, users are entitled to exchange the screen of the smart watch.

Apple says that in "very rare circumstances" the screen could crack on the listed models. This usually happens in the corners of the display. Subsequently, the crack widens until the entire screen cracks and completely "peels out" of its chassis.

Although these are isolated cases, according to Apple, readers have contacted us with similar problems over the years. These exceptions apparently forced the company to start the entire service program.

Customers with Apple Watch Series 2 and Series 3 models with cracked screens are eligible for a free replacement in an authorized service center. The technician will check whether the defect falls into the described category and will replace the entire display with a new one.

Up to three years from the purchase of the watch

All Apple Watch Series 2 models are included in the service program. From Series 3, only models with an aluminum chassis are included.

The exchange is free for a period of three years from the date of purchase of the watch from the seller or one year from the start of the exchange program. The longer of the two sections is always calculated so that it is advantageous for the customer.

If you have an Apple Watch Series 2 or an aluminum Series 3 with a self-cracked corner of the display, be sure to use the program and have the screen replaced for free. The repair takes a maximum of five working days.
