Over the weekend, Apple released information about two new service programs for two relatively new products. In one case, it concerns the iPhone X and its potential defects in the display, in the other, the action concerns the 13″ MacBook Pro without Touch Bar, which may have an SSD disk that is prone to damage.

In the case of the iPhone X, it is said that models may appear in which the special display module, which is in charge of sensing the touch control, is damaged. If this component breaks, the phone will not respond to touches as it should. In other cases, the display may, on the contrary, respond to touch stimuli that the user does not perform at all. In both cases, an iPhone X damaged in this way is classified as eligible for replacement of the entire display part free of charge in all official Apple stores and certified services.

The mentioned problem is allegedly not limited to a selected number of devices (as is usually the case in the case of a defective series), so it can appear in almost every iPhone X. If the described problems happen to you with your iPhone X, contact the official support, where you will advise the exact procedure as to how to proceed. You can find more information about the program here on Apple's website.

The second service action concerns the 13″ MacBook without Touch Bar, in this case it is a batch of models manufactured between June 2017 and June 2018, which additionally have 128 or 256 GB of storage. According to Apple, MacBooks manufactured in this year range can suffer from a very limited SSD disk error that can lead to the loss of data written to the disk. Users can on this link check the serial number of their device and then find out if the service action applies to their device or not. If so, Apple strongly recommends taking advantage of free diagnostics and possible service intervention, as data loss may occur on affected MacBooks.

In this case, the procedure is the same as for the above-mentioned iPhone X. If your MacBook falls into the selection of affected devices, please contact the official support, who will direct you further. In both cases, Apple recommends making a complete backup of the device before visiting the service center.
