Over the weekend, Apple announced the launch of a new service event targeting the 2016 to 2017 MacBook Pros.

The service action applies to the MacBook pro range without the Touch Bar, specifically the 13″ models manufactured between October 2016 and October 2017. MacBooks of this specification manufactured in this range may contain defective batteries, making owners eligible for a free replacement. If you bought a MacBook Pro without a Touch Bar during this period, check out the this link to find out if you have a series covered by this service event.

The program does not apply to 15″ models or models with Touch Bar. The service campaign will run for five years, during which users will be entitled to a free replacement. If a similar problem has already happened to you and you have paid for the service replacement of the battery, contact the Apple customer center for a refund of the amount paid. You can find more information about the entire event, including all conditions, at this link.

According to reports from abroad, a damaged battery is first manifested by a gradual loss of capacity, an increase in the time required for a full charge, up to physical deformation, which is manifested by pushing the lower part of the chassis outwards.
