Apple's environmental initiative is getting stronger. In addition to its previous steps towards greener tomorrows, it now comes with an exclusive ten-day campaign, thanks to which the earnings from the App Store will go to support the World Wide Fund for Nature.

From April 14 to 24, earnings from 27 globally popular apps in the App Store will be sent to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), a global organization that uses innovative solutions to protect all natural resources.

The Californian company calls this entire event "Apps for Earth", which includes not only games such as Angry Birds 2, Hay Day, Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft or SimCity BuildIt, but also the VSCO application for photo editing and the Line communicator. Earnings as such count both the purchase of the application itself and in-app purchases.

Steps to improve the environment are proving to be another important chapter for Apple. Tim Cook, the CEO, is more open about this issue than ever before, which proves not only exit Apple's VP of Environment Lisa Jackson at a recent keynote, but also introducing the recycling robot Liam or issuing green bonds worth one and a half billion US dollars.

The "Apps for Earth" event also goes hand in hand with the release of Apple's annual report on the environment.
