The Greenpeace organization published a new report Clicking Clean: A Guide to Building the Green Internet, which shows that Apple continues to lead other tech companies in its pursuit of renewable energy. The report shows that Apple has been the most active with its renewable energy projects. In addition, he also launched completely new initiatives. The goal of the Cupertino company is to maintain the hallmark of a data cloud operator that runs on 100% renewable energy for another year.

Apple continues to lead the way in powering its corner of the Internet with renewable energy, even as it continues to expand rapidly.

Greenpeace's updated report comes at a time when Apple is heavily promoting its efforts in the field of environmental protection and as part of the global Earth Day published his achievements so far. The company's latest initiatives include partnering with and related to a fund that fights for forest conservation purchase of 146 square kilometers of forests in Maine and North Carolina. The company wants to use this to produce paper for packaging its products, in such a way that the forest is able to prosper in the long term.

Apple announced this week new environmental projects also in China. These include a similar initiative to protect forests in collaboration with the World Wide Fund for Nature, but also plans to use solar energy in the production of products in this country.

As it was said earlier, Apple is doing very well in nature protection compared to other technology companies, and the Greenpeace ranking that accompanies the report is proof of that. According to Greenpeace, Yahoo, Facebook and Google are also quite successful in using energy from renewable sources to drive data centers. Yahoo gets 73% of its total energy consumption from renewable sources for its data centers. Facebook and Google account for less than half (49% and 46% respectively).

Amazon is relatively far behind in the ranking, supplying only 23 percent of renewable energy to its clouds, which it is making an increasingly significant part of its business. People from Greenpeace, however, are particularly displeased with Amazon because of the lack of transparency of this company's energy policy. Indeed, transparency in the area of resource use is another important element that the Greenpeace organization and its report accompanied by the ranking pay attention to.
