This year, Apple is resorting to practices that we are not very used to. Since the start of sales of the new iPhones, there has been talk that the price hikes are not working very well and Apple is selling fewer iPhones than expected. The company is trying to combat this trend in several ways that were unthinkable in the past.

It's been a few days since information appeared on the web that Apple would bring back the iPhone X to the market. About three days after these speculations, it happened and the iPhone X appeared in stores again in Japan. Reason? Very poor sales of this year's new products, especially the iPhone XR, which was allegedly not sold at all in Japan. The company even offers a discount on a new, cheaper iPhone through operators.

Apple is now preparing another friendly step towards customers on its home soil in the USA. A new trade-in program began to apply here, with which Apple motivates owners of older iPhones to exchange them for new ones. This would not be unusual, Apple used similar practices before. What is new, however, is the value of the funds that Apple is offering to US customers. Instead of the usual 50 or 100 dollars, interested parties can get up to 300 dollars, which they can then use when buying an iPhone XS or XR.

All you have to do is have an iPhone 7 Plus (and newer) and the customer is entitled to the highest discount. With older and cheaper iPhones, the value of trade-in credits naturally decreases, but even so, it's still much better than all similar programs from years past. However, this limited promotion is not the only one that Apple has launched in the US market in recent days. Newly, the company also offers 10% discounts for veterans and members of the armed forces.

The above information does not directly concern us, but it is interesting to observe the change in the attitude that Apple takes in some markets. According to foreign information, several high-ranking employees working in Apple's marketing department have been moved over the past month. They are now in charge of marketing events to help sell the new iPhones, especially with the arrival of the upcoming Christmas season.

So far, it seems that Apple is starting to pay for the long-term increase in the prices of its products (in this case, iPhones). The situation is probably not helped by the fact that the standard life cycle of phones has increased significantly in recent years. The number of users who changed their old iPhone for a new one every year is gradually decreasing due to how high-quality and "long-lasting" the latest generations are.
