Italy fined Apple 10 million euros

Since the iPhone 8 version, Apple phones have been proud of partial water resistance, which is improving almost every year. But the problem is that there is no warranty for water damage, so apple growers have to forgive themselves for playing with water. Apple has now encountered a similar problem in Italy, where it will have to pay a fine of 10 million euros.

Images from the presentation of the new iPhone 12:

The Italian antimonopoly authority will take care of the fine, specifically for misleading information in Apple advertisements that point to the water resistance of these smartphones. Appel boasts in its promotional materials that the iPhone can handle water for a certain period of time at a certain depth. But he forgot to add one key thing. Apple phones can really handle water, but the problem is that only in special laboratory conditions where constant and clean water is used. Because of this, the data is slightly out of touch with reality should apple growers choose to test these abilities at home. The Antimonopoly Office then shed some light on the already mentioned absence of a guarantee against water damage. According to them, it is inappropriate to push marketing on something that can subsequently damage the phone, while the user is not even entitled to a repair or replacement.

This is not the first time that Apple has been in trouble with the Italian antitrust authority. In 2018, it was a fine of the same amount, for the then sharply criticized slowing down of older iPhones. What do you say about the waterproofness of apple phones and the absence of a warranty?

The arrival of new Apple products with Mini-LED technology is just around the corner

In recent months, there has been more and more talk about the advent of the so-called Mini-LED technology. It should specifically replace LCD and OLED panels. Mini-LED is characterized by great display capabilities, which we could compare to the aforementioned OLED panels, but at the same time they are a step ahead. OLED suffers from the problem of burning pixels, which can literally destroy the entire display in the event of an accident. That's exactly why the Cupertino company has been trying to implement this technology in its products lately, and according to the latest news, it looks like we'll see it soon. DigiTimes magazine has now come out with new information.

The first product to implement Mini-LED technology should be the new iPad Pro, which Apple will present to us in the first quarter of next year. Subsequently, mass production of MacBook Pros with the same displays should begin, specifically in the second quarter of next year. Renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also recently commented on the whole situation, which we informed you about in an article. According to his information, the production of these Mini-LED displays should start already at the end of this year, which means that the first pieces should already be produced.

At the same time, Apple fans are also hoping for the arrival of the new 14″ and 16″ MacBook Pro. Unfortunately, I do not know any more detailed information for the time being and it is not certain whether the mentioned forecasts will come true at all. In the current situation, we can only be sure that the new Apple laptops will be equipped with a chip from the Apple Silicon family, which means that Apple has already noticeably outstripped its competition.
