Just like this year and in previous years, the regular consumer electronics fair CES will take place in Las Vegas at the beginning of next year. This time, however, Apple will also officially present itself at the fair after many years. It will be the first formal participation of the Cupertino giant since 1992. The central theme will be security.

Bloomberg reported this week that Chief Privacy Officer Jane Horvath will be speaking at CES 2020, participating in a discussion called the "Chief Privacy Officer Roundtable." Topics such as regulation, user and consumer privacy and many others will be the subject of roundtable discussions.

The issue of privacy has recently become a hot topic for many (not only) technology companies, so it is not surprising that its solution will also be part of CES 2020. Not only will the discussion be about how individual companies approach the privacy of their users, but also about the future regulations or what the users themselves request in this regard. The discussion will be moderated by Rajeev Chand, head of research at Wing Venture Capital, and in addition to Jane Horvath from Apple, Erin Egan from Facebook, Susan Shook from Procter & Gamble or Rebecca Slaughter from the Federal Trade Commission will participate in it.

Although Apple did not officially participate in last year's CES trade fair, at the time it was held, it strategically placed privacy-themed billboards in various places in Las Vegas, where CES is held. Another major Apple-related highlight of CES 2019 was the introduction of HomeKit and AirPlay 2 support for a number of third-party devices. Because of this news, Apple representatives also met privately with media representatives.

The mentioned discussion will take place on Tuesday, January 7 at 22 pm our time, the live broadcast will be streamed on the CES website.
