Yesterday afternoon we reported that Apple to some extent relaxed the requirements for production quality the components that make up the Face ID module for the new iPhone X. The Bloomberg server came up with the original report, from which basically all major foreign media that are devoted to Apple took this information. Potential customers and future owners of the iPhone X were not too excited about this news, as they did not like the potential deterioration of the phone's components. However, they can rest easy, because Apple denied the entire report yesterday.

Last night, Apple issued an official statement in which it assures everyone that there has been no reduction in the quality of individual components.

Bloomberg's claims that Apple has lowered the accuracy and manufacturing quality requirements for Face ID components are completely false. We expect Face ID to be the new gold standard against which other face-based authentication systems are measured. The quality and accuracy of Face ID have not undergone any changes. The entire system still operates with an error rate of less than 1:1.

Of course, the question is how it really is. If the initial rate of quality level release wasn't drastic at all, the average user would most likely not recognize it, and it could be this small piece that would help the production as such. We will never know the truth in this case, and we have no choice but to accept Apple's statement. We can be sure that Apple would not release some scum among users, because it would not really pay off.
