General enthusiasm for last year's iPad Pros was marred by news of their easy bending. The she frowned waters of the Internet at the end of last December, giving rise to the Bendgate 2.0 affair. We already brought you last year statement one of Apple's employees about the whole thing, but now Apple has finally released its own official announcement.

At this point, it's already clear that bending last year's iPad Pro won't be a marginal issue affecting only a tiny fraction of users. As reports of other cases multiplied, it became clear that the situation demanded a proper explanation from the manufacturer. In addition to the information that the problem arose primarily as a result of the use of a new manufacturing process, Apple provided additional instructions and information to users.

Examples of bent iPad Pros:

In its statement, Apple states that for the sake of better mobile connectivity, plastic is injected at high temperatures into pre-prepared channels in the aluminum shell during the production of the tablet. After cooling, the entire structure is completed with the help of CNC machining, which achieves a seamless integration of plastic and aluminum parts into a one-piece housing. Due to the straight edges and antennas, according to Apple, subtle variations in the integrity may be more visible from a certain angle.

"These small differences do not affect the structural strength or function of the product and will not change during normal use." says Apple.

According to Apple, users have no reason to worry about bending their tablets and promises that despite the deformation, the tablet will always work as it should. At the same time, however, it encourages users to contact official support or authorized service in case of any doubts regarding their new iPad Pro.
