Recently, the world has been filled with rumors about what the new iPhone 14 series will look like. The one with the nickname Pro should get what many Apple fans have been calling for for a long time, and on the contrary, lose what Android owners mock them for. Of course, we are talking about a cutout in the display, which will replace the pair of "shots". But will it be enough to achieve a cleaner design?

The black front variants of iPhones have always been more pleasing. They were able to hide not only the necessary sensors, but to some extent also the speaker, which was unnecessarily obvious on the white versions. Now we have no choice. No matter which iPhone model we reach for, its front surface will be simply black. From the iPhone X to the iPhone 12, we also had a precise and consistent layout of components in the notch, which only changed with the iPhone 12.

For them, Apple reduced the size of the cutout not only by rearranging the elements, but also by moving the speaker to the upper frame. When you don't have a comparison with the competition, you don't stop to think that it looks the way it does. The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max models should get the same look, both the cutout and the speaker. Judging by the numerous leaks.

However, the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max models should finally get two holes, one for the front camera and the pill-shaped one for the sensors necessary for the correct functionality of Face ID. However, as we can see in the published images, the opening for the front speaker will also change, by roughly half compared to the basic versions. Unfortunately, even so, it is not a miracle.

Competition can be "invisible"

Apple, the kind of company that often puts design over functionality, simply has an unsightly top of the iPhones. The competition has already managed to minimize the front speaker so much that it is practically invisible. It is hidden in an incredibly narrow gap between the display and the frame, which you will only discover if you look closely.

Even so, these devices are still able to meet the demands for quality reproduction, as well as the water resistance of the entire solution. But why Apple can't hide its iPhone speaker is a mystery. We know it's possible, and we know he could have easily done it already with the iPhone 13, where he redesigned the entire cutout system anyway. He just didn't want to for some reason.

He could also be inspired by the competition, because this almost invisible solution was introduced by Samsung in its line of Galaxy S21 phones, which it introduced at the beginning of last year. Of course, this year's Galaxy S22 series continues to do so. So we have to hope that we will see at least the iPhone 15, although it is quite possible that they will not change in any way compared to the XNUMX, and Apple will further minimize the sub-display selfie. Hopefully we won't have to wait too long.
