First guess sales of the Apple Watch appeared a few days after the launch of pre-sales. At the time, Slice Intelligence presented its research, according to which almost a million units of the new device were sold online in the US alone in the first 24 hours.

Exactly three months have passed since then and the number of watches sold has increased to 3. This number comes from the same company, Slice Intelligence, and represents the amount of orders made in the US via the Internet. The real quantity will therefore be even higher after adding the pieces sold directly in Apple's brick-and-mortar stores in the US.

The average value of one order is $505, which corresponds to the cheapest model from the Apple Watch edition. The best-selling edition of the watch is the Apple Watch Sport with 1 units sold, which is more than 950% of the total. The steel Apple Watch Edition is in second place with 909 units sold, and 60 gold Apple Watch Editions have also been sold, according to Slice. The average price of the sold Apple Watch Sport is estimated at $1, for the Apple Watch it is $086 and for the Apple Watch Edition $569.

Regarding the development of Apple Watch sales since its launch in April, Slice Intelligence found that in May, an average of about twenty thousand watches were sold per day. This number decreased considerably in June, with the daily average of devices sold below ten thousand. The company further estimated that approximately 17% of Apple Watch customers purchased at least one additional band.

All the figures mentioned were obtained by Slice Intelligence using its own sources. It provides several services and an iOS application "Slice" used to track online purchases and shipments and for an overview of product prices. In total, it currently has more than 2,5 million customers, of whom 22 have purchased an Apple Watch — a figure that sets the sample from which the company calculated the number of units sold within the entire United States.

Slice Intelligence believes its estimates are very close to reality, citing comparisons with Amazon and the US Department of Commerce, in which it achieved between 97 and 99% accuracy.

Apple will release its sales figures for the third fiscal quarter of this year on July 21. However, we cannot yet expect the Apple Watch to appear in them as a separate category.
